ADaM Excel Specs as JSON [Explore]

Background

We cannot view a git diff of the excel-based specs. This makes it hard to see what is changed in a Pull Request. However, we can view json on git/GitHub and this got me thinking can we make our excel specs into a JSON file?

I don't have the solution(s), but it feels like it can be done.

Definition of Done

• Explore R packages that can turn excel files into JSON files and report findings
• Explore R packages that can turn JSON files into excel files and report findings
• Propose a workflow for creating and working with JSON-based specs
• Produce an ADaM with the JSON-based spec (or create the excel file from JSON file and use in ADaM program)

@RConsortium/pilot5 if folks have any leads on this, I think this would be super helpful for future pilots. This is not needed for this current Pilot.
