In case you were wondering about the motivation... my home directory is not a git repo (lol), but rather some terminal emulators have a "create new terminal in same directory" keyboard shortcut, and I'd like to have the status in such windows immediately. It is nice to have the git status in my prompt in such windows right from the start rather than having to do tl;dr - it feels like a bug |
